Conservatory Committee

The Conservatory Committee was established to protect the interests of member companies by providing a sound basis for the development and promotion of the conservatory market.

The key challenge for the Conservatory Committee was to respond to the future legislation proposals of Building Regulation and Control. As the conservatory market continues to increase at an unprecedented rate, the British Government were keen to introduce Building Regulation control. The Committee was part of the sucessful lobbying process to prevent this unnecessary regulatory and financial burden.

These issues require significant and carefully crafted changes to the Building Regulations in order to safeguard the future of the conservatory industry.

The Conservatory Committee is well advanced with the development of a "Horizontal Approved Document for Conservatories" proposal.  A horizontal approved document provides comprehensive practical guidance on ways to comply with all of the functional requirements in each part of the Building Regulations.
