As part of its ongoing campaign to support local authority and housing association specifiers in the social housing sector, the British Plastics Federation has focused on the need to overcome myths that PVC cannot be repaired or recycled. “Not only is this not true,” says Thom Lant of the BPF, “we can demonstrate that all types of repair can be carried out economically and effectively on site and that, at the end of their useful life, PVC windows and doors can be recycled into useful long-life products such as park benches and street furniture.”
